Background

Cage Fury Fighting Championships returns to "The Roughrider State" on Friday, when the Three Affiliated Tribes once again welcome the organization to 4 Bears Casino & Lodge for "CFFC 143: Hasan vs. Eastman."

The night's main event sees undefeated CFFC flyweight champion Bilal Hasan seeking the second defense of his title, not to mention another viral highlight-reel finish, as he takes on American Top Team's Jason Eastman, who believes he's primed to deliver an upset. Meanwhile, the CFFC 143 co-main event features veteran middleweights Buddy "Braveheart" Wallace and Chris "Breezy" Brown clashing with an interim title on the line.

MAIN EVENT: BILAL HASAN VS. JASON EASTMAN

At just 23 years old, reigning flyweight champion Bilal Hasan (6-0 MMA, 6-0 CFFC) has been nothing short of spectacular since making his pro debut under the CFFC banner. Six trips to the cage, six victories, and five of them earned without needing any input from the judges.

Hasan claimed the title this past September in the same venue before notching a defense of the belt in February in Philadelphia. Now, just four months later, the all-action fighter out of Charlie's Combat Club returns to action looking to continue his charge to what seems to be an almost certain future invite to the UFC.

However, Jason "God's Champ" Eastman (8-4 MMA, 1-1 CFFC) has different ideas.

Training for years alongside the likes of current UFC champ Alexandre Pantoja, former Bellator MMA and Rizin FF titleholder Kyoji Horiguchi and multiple-time ONE Championship kingpin Adriano Moraes, Eastman believes he's capable of handing Hasan his first loss.

For Eastman, the result would not only earn him the belt but a little redemption, as well, as he challenged previously for the title in 2021 but dropped a decision to then-champ Phumi Nkuta. Ten years the senior of Hasan, Eastman still maintains his UFC dreams and knows an upset here could go a long way in helping him reach that dream.

CO-MAIN EVENT: BUDDY WALLACE VS. CHRIS BROWN

The night's co-main event features an interim title bout, as reigning champion Kyle Daukaus was forced to withdraw from a planned defense against Chris "Breezy" Brown (11-5 MMA, 1-0 CFFC). Answering the call on short notice was Buddy "Braveheart" Wallace 23-10-1 MMA, 0-0 CFFC), and the two will now square off for the right to set up a potential unification bout with Daukaus later this year.

Wallace was a contestant on the very first season of Dana White's Contender Series, where he suffered a loss to Charles Byrd, denying him an opportunity to join the UFC. However, the 13-year veteran still maintains that ultimate goal, and he currently stands at 8-1 in his past nine outings, with his lone loss in that time coming to undefeated Bellator MMA welterweight champion Ramazan Kuramagomedov.

During that run, Wallace has competed anywhere from 170 to 190 pounds, stepping up on short notice on more than one occasion and proving himself as an anybody, anywhere, anytime kind of fighter.

Meanwhile, Brown is a fighter with similar stock.

A Jackson Wink MMA product, Brown is no stranger to bouncing around weight classes and taking on challenges of any kind. His past four opponents were all undefeated when they met, and Brown was able to hand three of them their first losses, including Ukrainian standout Egor Kostyuchenko at March's CFFC 140.

With CFFC gold on the line, as well as a future date with seven-time UFC veteran Daukaus hanging in the balance, expect fireworks between these two hungry veterans.

ANGEL ALVAREZ VS. JT SCHULTE

In a key lightweight matchup Cuban standout Angel "Salsa King" Alvarez (8-2 MMA, 1-0 CFFC) takes on promotional newcomer JT Schulte (8-3 MMA, 0-0 CFFC).

Alvarez debuted with CFFC in June with a victory and has been lined up for big fights with Dylan Mantello, Robert Varricchio and current champ Jesse Roberts, but each of those fights fell through. The Kill Cliff FC fighter is finally back and looking to prove he's worthy of a shot at the CFFC title. However, standing in his way is Wisconsin's Schulte, who has earned six of his eight professional wins via stoppage and is currently 6-1 in his last seven.

ANTONIO CASTILLO JR. VS. BEAU SAMANIEGO

Recent CFFC featherweight title challenger Beau Samaniego (6-2 MMA, 3-2 CFFC) looks to get back into the win column when he takes on late replacement Antonio "The Mexican Muscle" Castillo Jr. (16-20 MMA, 0-0 CFFC) in a 150-pound catchweight matchup.

Samaniego suffered a disappointing first-round stoppage loss to Anthony Dilemme this past October in a failed bid for the title, seeing a five-fight win streak snapped in the process. Undeterred, Samaniego was expected to return at CFFC 143 against Canadian striker Amin Almelik, however the standout prospect suffered an injury in training and was forced to withdraw from the featherweight contest.

Enter 15-year veteran Castillo Jr., who has proven throughout his career that the opponent simply doesn't matter. Call his name, and he's ready to go, and that willingness to step up has earned him an opportunity to notch one of the biggest wins of his career while being featured on UFC FIGHT PASS.

DAVI CABRAL VS. FARSHEDI SHAMSIDIN

An intriguing middleweight matchup with international flavor sees Brazil's Davi "Young Lion" Cabral (4-0) take on Tajikistan's Farshedi Shamsidin (2-1).

A highly decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Cabral is a former IBJJF South American and Pan American Championship winner who has shown his grappling prowess in his budding MMA run, as well, scoring stoppage victories in all four of his appearances thus far.

Meanwhile, Shamsidin's journey began humbly in his native Tajikistan before seeing his seek out international opportunities, eventually relocating to the U.S. in pursuit of his dreams. A planned December appearance under the BRAVE CF banner failed to materialize, and now Shamsidin makes his CFFC debut.

CHRISTIAN ECHOLS VS. GURAM GOCHASHVILI

The night's main card kicks off in the middleweight division, as well, as Christian Echols (7-3) takes on the undefeated Guram Gochashvili (3-0).

Echols returns to the CFFC cage for the first time since 2023, having notched three first-round stoppages during his time away. Incredibly, all 10 of Echols' professional contests have ended in the first round. He now meets Gochashvili, a Georgian grappling champion who took more than five years away from MMA competition before returning successfully with a first-round stoppage earlier this year and parlaying that into his CFFC debut.

CHRIS CHOO VS. FRANK RAYFORD

The night's featured prelim features a pair of light heavyweights who always look to finish, as promotional newcomer Chris Choo (3-2) takes on Frank "The Jackel" Rayford (3-1).

Choo looks to rebound from a recent setback to Gochashvili, who opens up the main card, in a January contest that took place on the Utah regional scene. Meanwhile, Rayford will look for his third straight win under the CFFC banner, competing at each of the promotion's two previous visits to North Dakota.

ALANA COOK VS. MICAELA RAMPAGE

The night's lone women's contest takes place at 140 pounds, as Canada's Alana "The Alanamal" Cook (4-1) takes on Chicago's Micaela "Micky" Rampage (2-3).

Rampage was expected to face Lauren Wolfe in a bantamweight clash, but "The Linguist" was forced to withdraw from the contest, allowing for Cook to step in and moving the pairing to a catchweight matchup.

Rampage looked impressive this past September, scoring a first-round finish at CFFC 136 and ending a three-fight skid in the process. She now faces another stiff challenge in Niagara Top Team's Cook, who carries a two-fight winning streak into her CFFC debut.

JARTAVIS JACKSON VS. MICHAEL JAMIYANDORJ

A bantamweight matchup features the lone professional debut of the night, as the returning Jartavis "Six Unchained" Jackson (2-1) faces promotional newcomer Michael Jamiyandorj (Pro debut).

Mississippi's Jackson debuted for the promotion in 2024, suffering a decision loss to the more experienced Tom Picciano. He now returns 14 months later to face Utah's Jamiyandorj, who wrapped up a five-fight amateur career this past November with a 4-1 record that included four first-round stoppage wins and now makes his first start as a pro in the CFFC cage.

KIERAN HERNANDEZ VS. GEOVANNY SALAZAR

In a 180-pound catchweight matchup, Montana's Kieran Hernandez (0-1) makes the short trip to 4 Bears Casino & Lodge to take on North Las Vegas' Geovanny "Superman" Salazar (1-0) in a CFFC debut for them both.

Hernandez returns from a two-year layoff from competition after suffering a submission loss in his debut in his home state. He now takes on Salazar, who scored a first-round knockout in March at a regional event in Las Vegas.

RONNIE ROBERSON VS. CAMERON WILLIAMSON

The night's action kicks off in the welterweight division, as Ronnie "Venom" Roberson (1-0) takes on the more experienced Cameron Williamson (3-3).

Following an extensive 13-fight amateur career, Williamson made his professional debut this past November, taking home a decision win, then took a professional boxing bout in the interim before turning his attention back to MMA. He now faces Williamson, who makes his CFFC debut while looking to snap a two-fight skid after previously enjoying three straight victories.
