Tyrone Spong reportedly will not be able to compete at WSOF 3 in June due to visa issues. His bout with Angel DeAnda was set to be the night's co-main event.
According to reports, kickboxing standout Tyrone Spong has been pulled from duties at the upcoming World Series of Fighting 3 due to visa issues.
The Dutchman was expected to face Angel DeAnda on Jun. 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada in what would be his second professional MMA bout. Spong made his debut with the organization at WSOF 1 in November 2012, scoring a brutal, first-round knockout of Travis Bartlett. A Blackzilians stablemate, Spong most recently returned to action in another KO performance against Remy Bonjasky at Glory 5 in London.
The promotion has yet to officially release a statement substantiating the reports and there's been no word on DeAnda receiving a new opponent. WSOF 3 will be headlined by former UFC welterweight Jon Fitch and Josh Burkman in a non-title bout.
