The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale officially drew 5,918 fans for a live gate of $569,075.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission, which oversaw the event, today released attendance numbers for the event to MMAjunkie.com (
www.mmajunkie.com).
Headlined by a bantamweight contest between Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen, the event took place April 13 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It's main-card aired live on FX following prelims on Facebook and FUEL TV.
Of the 5,918 fans that attended the show, 5,382 were paid attendees while 536 were "comps." There were 223 unsold tickets, the NSAC said. The average ticket price was $107.74.
The attendance figure was actually greater than the company's initial estimation of 5,549 fans, while the gate total of $569,000 matched the figure reported on fight night.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale also hosted the finals of the 17th installment of "The Ultimate Fighter," which saw Kevin Gastelum upset Urijah Hall to win the reality show tournament.
The event was a departure from earlier TUF finales, which took place in smaller Las Vegas concert halls such as The Pearl at The Palms Resort and Casino and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The first finale was held at the 3,100-seat Cox Pavillion.
