On Thursday former Strikeforce heavyweight Brett Rogers pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree assault following a June domestic-assault incident with his wife.

As part of the plea, three other charges were dropped, and Rogers expects to avoid jail time, "The Apple Valley Patch" reports.

Rogers (11-3) still is slated to fight UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez (12-5) next week in the headliner of Titan Fighting Championship 20.

The event takes place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan., and the night's main card airs on HDNet.

Rogers, who was arrested at his home in Apple Valley, Minn., will be sentenced on Nov. 30. He remains free on $100,000 bond.

"Overall, Brett and I are pleased with the outcome," Rogers' attorney, Murad Mohammed, told the newspaper. "I think it's important for everyone, especially Brett's wife and family, to know that Brett has taken ownership for everything that's happened. It's an unfortunate situation for the family, and the end result is Brett not having a felony conviction, resulting in him returning to his family and continuing to fight."

After opening his career with a perfect 11-0 record, the 6-foot-5 Rogers has struggled through a 1-3 stretch in his past four fights. Of course, the losses have come to heavyweight greats Josh Barnett, Alistair Overeem and Fedor Emelianenko. Strikeforce released him after the Barnett loss, which came in the first round of the organization's heavyweight grand prix, and the June arrest.
