Monday, June 7 11:04 am PT: Spike TV announced on Monday that it will air UFC 113 on June 26 at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST, which will overlap with a live Showtime broadcast of Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Werdum,” beginning at 10:00 p.m. EST/PST from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
UFC 113, which first aired as a pay-per-view event on May 8 from Montreal, featured the rematch to Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua’s controversial first bout at UFC 104 in October 2009, where Machida was awarded a contested unanimous decision. Rua seized the title from Machida with a first-round knockout at UFC 113.
Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson also made his first PPV appearance at UFC 113, dropping a second-round technical knockout to “The Ultimate Fighter 10” castmate Matt Mitrione in the former NFL football player’s second professional bout.
Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Werdum” will host the return of the world’s No. 1 heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko against former top five UFC competitor Fabricio Werdum. Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos will also defend her women’s 145-pound title against Jan Finney.
Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Werdum” begins at 10:00 p.m. EST/PST on Showtime.
