Randy Couture vs. United States Mark Coleman

I agree, Coleman has heart and has an amazing background regarding all the wins and fights he been thrue but still didnt impress at all. To be honest, I never liked the guy until now. He has always been suspiciously a steroid user in my eyes, maybe unfair, but I cant help to think about it. Off course there are many others but it doesnt mean I have to like the idea of doping. Lately I get the feeling that he has matured, finally, and I do like him better now. But I dont think he should fight anybody except that sucker Tito. That would be sweet.

Randy is a freak, we know that by now and he looked really good tonight. Its always a pleasure to watch him fight, win or loose. He is and will always be that Captain America, just misses the shield.

Overall I liked the fight but was dissapointed that Coleman didnt give more of a challenge.


* Middleweight bout: United States Nate Marquardt vs. United States Chael Sonnen

I was stunned by how BAD Marquardt was fighting. It looked like he didnt have half the motivation Sonnen had. Fighting like that he can forget all about A. Silva.
Chael Sonnen might be a prick saying that he will beat up GSP on his way to the lockeroom and being a republican politician etc, but all credit to him and hats off for his performance in UFC 109. As a fighter he really doesnt have many flaws right now. He did an excellent show and has really earned the titleshot in my opinion! He is also right about fighters doing something for the sport rather then only focusing on a career as an actor etc.


* Welterweight bout: United States Mike Swick vs. Brazil Paulo Thiago

I never really thought Swick had a shot. But I like Swick and he didnt do a bad fight. Thiago on the other hand is awesome. I loved the countdown show where you got to see a little of his training and stuff. i loved the movie ciudad de dios from the favelas and this reminded me of one of those guys.

Awesome fight for Thiago, he will go far!


* Middleweight bout: Brazil Demian Maia vs. United States Dan Miller

IMPRESSED! Demian Maia has a lot of potential, and he seems like one of those pure, really talented martial artists that are one in a million. I cant wait to see more from him. As mentioned before you have to have big balls to go out and intentionally stand up against a really tough opponent after getting KO'ed last fight.
The KO was probably just a really lucky punch from Marquardt and I doubt that we will ever see Maia loose that way again.

Also nice to see that he really has taken the effort to learn english really good, its always great to understand what they are saying. My portuguese isnt that good unfortunately.


* Welterweight bout: United States Matt Serra vs. United States Frank Trigg

Had to be an idiot to think that this fight would end any other way after watching triggs last performance. Looks like he has a big nerve problem. Never seen anybody look so much like they are going to puke entering the arena.

Serra looked really good. I hope to see him again against some other a little harder opponent.


Lightweight bout: United States Melvin Guillard vs. Brazil Ronys Torres

Melvin is looking better then ever! A really entertaining fight!


Rest of fights where allright too... Nothing special to mention that I can think of.


The production = super. UFC really knows their stuff and make everything else look bleak and unprofessonal.

I noticed a slight improovement in Joes commentating, and to be honest, I like these guys, they are maybe not always objective but in my opinion its up to us as an aduience to take it with a pinch of salt and make our own opinions. At least they make me laugh

I must add that Chris Tuchscherer vs Tim Hague was great but what a dissapointing outcome!

Tim destroyed Chris completely in my opinion.

Ya i did terrible also, i thought Randy looked great, Swick doesn't seem to be able to hang with the big dogs anymore i see him getting an easy fight next, for a camp that supposedly spars at 90% doesn't seem to like getting hit hard to much. Was an alright card i enjoyed it but i enjoy watching amateur fights on the rez.

When Randy sunk in the RNC, I actually, instantly, said "Oh no! Coleman's not gonna tap! He'd prefer to go to sleep!", and lo and behold...

The guys I was watching it with had a good laugh at that.

Also, about Randy looking great: I'd hesitate to say that he did, in fact, look great:


Coleman had no foot work, no head movement, no cardio, and couldn't take randy down. You can say Randy looked great, but only because Coleman looked like he took a holiday from the cemetary.

The only reason I think Coleman vs Tito would be sweet is because I am sure it is something that really would motivate Mark in a positive way and I think he needs that if he is going to win anything. Its not a dream fight I have but I simply cant see how he will be able to find any reason in fighting another fighter... I sure know we cant!
