Former UFC light heavyweight titleholder Tito Ortiz re-signed with The Ultimate Fighting Championship in late July ending 13 months of free agency, and “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” is already rekindling old rivalries.

Ortiz takes on Forrest Griffin in his return to the Octagon in a rematch at UFC 106 on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas, but the 34-year-old fighter has been lobbying to get a third bout with his old nemesis Chuck Liddell in 2010.

“I know I’ve lost two matches. I still think I can beat him, and I still think that’s a big fight,” Ortiz told MMAWeekly.com. “I still want that fight. That would be awesome.”

Liddell has been on hiatus from the sport since losing to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 97 in April. UFC president Dana White originally said Liddell was retired, but has since backed off those statements. “The Iceman” has been defeated in four of his last five fights, but has indicated that he still has the desire to compete.

“I think if I call him out enough times I think he’ll be a man and step up,” said Ortiz. “Why wouldn’t he? That’s a huge fight and a big payday for him. It will be good.

“I think we can see one more,” he added. “Why not? I’m down. I’m always game. You know me, I’m not afraid to fight anyone, even though there was a picture that was painted a long time ago that wasn’t true. I’ve fought him twice already. I’m not afraid.

“He already proved he’s not my friend, so the hell with it. I’ve got nothing to lose. Lets make some money, and this time I’m going to kick his ass.”

The Liddell and Ortiz grudge is one of the most storied rivalries in mixed martial arts’ short history, dating back to 2002. Ortiz, who was champion at the time, was in prolonged contract negotiations with the UFC, which led to Liddell fighting for the interim belt before defeating Ortiz at UFC 47 and UFC 66.

That obviously left a sour taste in Ortiz’s mouth... and the feud continues.

Tito wants a lot of things and if he hadn't spent half his life up Dana's ass, he wouldn't have anything at all. He's a boring, overrated fighter who should probably be a bit more concerned about Griffin than he his about grandstanding about future fights he intends on ducking.

The strongest muscle in his entire body is his mouth.

he should not look past griffin indeed.

but boring and overated?

he once was one of the most beloved fighters in mma. not to mension he is one of the most dominant champs in the history of the ufc. so i dont think you can call him boring neither overrated.

I'm not the biggest Tito fan, but with a loser like Brock Lesnar as champ and all the stupid shit that's been happeneing with UFC and MMA in general lately, I miss the old days of the UFC and wouldn't mind seeing that fight, plus, you can't take away what Tito has done as a fighter and for the sport. His shit talking seems like bible study compared to Brock Lesnar's fat unclassy mouth, talking about getting on top of his wife and shit. What a tool.

IMO he has never been a great fighter. He was lucky to be the champion when he was. Back then the sport was less evolved and wrestlers were dominating by taking down the strikers and ground 'n' pounding or just holding them down. Many of his fights were boring to me. The most exciting fights he had were the ones when he was getting his arse kicked.

In addition look at who he defended the title against.

* def. Yuki Kondo on December 16, 2000 in Tokyo, Japan (UFC 29)
* def. Evan Tanner on February 23, 2001 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, US (UFC 30)
* def. Elvis Sinosic on June 29, 2001 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, US (UFC 32)
* def. Vladimir Matyushenko on September 28, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada, US (UFC 33)
* def. Ken Shamrock on November 22, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada, US (UFC 40)

Jonny, I have to agree with you. I think Tito's greatest skill is being able to get the crap kicked out of him. I also enjoy seeing that.

I don't care if Tito makes another run at the title or not. He bores me, I don't think he has a warrior's mentality, and there's something funny about the way his chin proporttioned itself on his face. Can't really figure that last one out . . . .

I don't understand Tito. He made the same as Forrest from the last fight (250 Grand) BUT Forrest got the $70,000 bonus. So Forrest earned his bonus and made as much money as a dude that's been helping a stripper do her taxes for the last two years? Good job Dana and Tito. Makes me angry.

And btw Tito, I want Cheryl Teigs to pretend to use a thigh master while sitting on my face, but that isn't gonna happen. Both she and Liddell are retired. . . . So we both lose.

Sadest part is that even though his biggest asset is his mouth its also his biggest problem.

Titio just dont know when to shut the hell up. Always babbeling on about bullshit noone wants to hear on and on and on. Hes too selfcocious too, cant take any critizism without starting his never ending blah blah. He also sucked as commentator. "Fedor, can you Im gonna tell you how you feel please?" etc...

I think he might have a future in midgetporn, his proportions are correct now that you mention his head....

Nah I dont wanna be too hard on him, but it sucks to hear excuses about broken skull etc after a fight when everything he said a month prior was that he was 100%.

I personally dont think that "it happend in trainingcamp just before the fight" is a good thing to say directly after being defeated. When you get defeated it doesnt matter why, nobody wants to hear the excuses, even if they are true. The correct thing is, as 99% of the fighters do, to accept the loss and go back to training and learn from it. And shut the hell up and go home. I really prefere Forrest Griffins actions after the loss to Anderson Silva then, even if that was weird too. At least Griffin knew he lost, he knew he did a bad fight so he went back to the lockeroom and started to think about improoving to next fight. There was no need for us to hear him say anything after that fight and... imo he said it all against Tito so all props to Griffin.

lol I just realized that was offtopic so:

No I dont wanna see Tito vs Chuck. I dont think its a fight that has anything to do with who is going to be next champion and have a shot at the belt. It would maybe be a fun exibition fight for some expo or so but I would much rather see one of the new upcoming fighters challenge some old prooven fighter like Forrest Griffin, Keith Jardin or Rashad Evans etc in order to maybe get a future shot at the title then watch Chuck beat the hell out of a babycrying Tito for no special purpose.
