Light heavyweight Mark Coleman (16-9 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is now official for a UFC 109 matchup with fellow UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture (17-10 MMA, 14-7 UFC).

Mike DiSabato, vice president of Coleman sponsor MMA Authentics, today confirmed "The Hammer" had signed his bout agreement for the Feb. 6 contest.

DiSabato also shared a simple message from Coleman: "Better now than never!"

Couture wasn't immediately available for comment when contacted by MMAjunkie.com, but "The Natural" confirmed he had verbally agreed to the contest with a post on his official Twitter account earlier this month.

The former champions were originally scheduled to meet nearly 11 years ago at "UFC 17: Redemption," but an injury forced Couture out of the contest. Coleman made his way to Japan shortly after to compete in PRIDE.

The contest is expected to take the co-feature slot on the as-yet-unannounced UFC 109 card, though it could certainly take top billing if Anderson Silva's rehabilitation process prevents a planned contest with Vitor Belfort from taking place.

UFC 109, which takes place at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, currently includes:

Two old men that should have retired.

UFC 109: Grumpy Old Men. Regardless, should be a good fight. I put my money on Walter Matthieu.

I suspect this will drag out for three rounds, both men tired at the end, after alternating between banging and clinching, working dirty boxing, with the occasional take down just to increase the length of the fight. I don't think either of these guys will have the sharpness to score a knockout, especially considering that both these guys have chin. Anyone else agree?

Coleman will gas out and Randy unlike Mauricio Rua (who should have been embarrassed by his performance) will finish old man Coleman.
UFC 109 is looking to be a real snore fest.

I must say that he is a tough bastard to still be in the game after all these years, and at that level, but I am not impressed by his performance (hehe) and I think Randy will sweep the floor with him. But then again as we all know this is MMA and anything can happen.

Classic! This should be a fun one (or excruciatingly boring).
