I didn't sign up today but I started with the $10/day sessions...

Holy...Mother...Fucking...Shit....

Excuse my language but this was a tough workout. Damn man. The owner, Vince, was cool seem pretty nice and laid back. Met another guy, Alex, saw 2 other guys come in and out of the gym during my session.

Workout (3 min rounds, 60 seconds between round breaks):
4 Rounds Jump Roping
1 Round Corner To Corner Ring Drill
1 Round Side to Side One leg Line Jumping in the Ring
1 Round Corner To Corner Ring Drill
1 Round Side to Side One leg Line Jumping in the Ring
1 Round Corner To Corner Ring Drill
1 Round Side to Side One leg Line Jumping in the Ring
1 Round Corner To Corner Ring Drill
1 Round Side to Side One leg Line Jumping in the Ring
4 Rounds Heavy Bag
1 Round Hand Mitts with Vince
1 Round Heavy Bag
1 Round Stretching
1 Round Double-end Bag
1 Round Corner to Corner Ring Drill
1 Round Side to Side One Leg Line Jumping in the Ring

I was there for like 1 hour and 15 mins but damn guys, felt like i was there for like 2 and a half hours. I started questioning in my mind is this something I want to keep doing. This is hard work if I do this I have to be dedicated.

The guy said I'm in pretty good shape starting out and I have some talent and he could make me nice in the ring. That kinda got me feeling good, because I've always been looking for a sport that I have a natural talent for. I was pretty good at football but not great. I was a good sprinter for my school but only decent out of it and around the area. I'm not great at basketball, I like it but as recreation or for fun. Soccer I don't really play except for fun but I like it since I grew up with my dad liking Jamaica and Brazil. Baseball is ok I sucked as a kid though, took me a half a season till I started consistently hitting, and even then I might not have started being a consistent hitter. I'm doing Cross Country, XC, this year purely for getting in shape for boxing. If I can't handle both though I will quit XC. I also will be doing Winter and Spring Track but if they interfere I'll drop those. At MMA I had a knack for the grappling portion and had talent in it, I never felt comfortable striking which was because it was as structured or as learning rather and more free sparring. There were a couple guys who hit me pretty good, one dude was like double my weight and it would annoy me how he would hit me. I mainly worked on technique and didn't put too much power in my punch and kicks also because we didn't use head gear for 1/2 the time (in which case we wouldn't go as hard). In boxing though sparring is ALWAYS done w/ headgear to prevent injuries. The MMA gym I joined was probably not the best but it was good and it was pretty much the only place around. The workout though was not as intense as the boxing one I did and not nearly as structured or as much a learning experience. One question I really want to know is how many trainers work at the gym because so far I've only seen Vince, I don't mind that but I was really thinking there should be like 2 or more. It wasn't a fast day though so who knows. I'll try to go back Monday, he said if I start going full time and being consistent, like I said, he could make me nice. I also need to be consistent for my self or I'll take breaks and quit going.

This is something I think I wanna do though, I do know there will most likely be hard and tough times in the future where I will doubt myself but I wanna push through it. Hopefully this log will help me do that. Thanks for your support guys.

Thanks guys, I'm heading there again today! But my calves are really sore and that fine but they have a tendency to tighten up and hurt REALLY bad like a charlie horse. Hopefully this doesn't happen, I'll stretch a lot and drink a lot of water.

XC starts today! The pre-season at least, let's see if it worth doing :P.

My calves hurt like a mofo. Near the end of the 1hr 45min practice I started getting mild tightening sensations in my calves which I've come to known as the signs of a big excruciating cramp, it was the cool down run so I took it even easier. I saran wrapped ice packs to my legs so hopefully I can get em better in 2ish hours. If I can then I'm boxing today. Also awaiting a order from Title Boxing from UPS today.

Great log, I still like to see how motivated you are, good thing you started working in boxing classess! that will definitely help you getting better!!!!
Yesterday I had my toughest muay thai training ever ;) I cannot describe it as good as you do, but it took about 1 1/2 hour and looked like this:

(none of the crunches and push ups, all small/explosive ones)
- started running the gym
- stop running and go to crunches, 200 times
- start running
- stop running and do 100 push ups
- run sideways
- run backwards
- run
- 100 crunches
- run
- from one to other side of the gym various combinations (left right jab, then left right jab, lowkick, highkicks, forward kicks, elbows, elbows to the head, knees, all for 5 to 10 times)
- run
- 100 push ups
- 100 crunches
- 5 x 2min on the heavy bag, full throttle, between the 2min 100 push ups, 100 crunches, 100 push ups, 100 crunches
- pads: 1 min. low/high cicks/knees/liver kicks, then the other one and back again for 4 times.
- pads: 100 lowkicks, 2 times
- pads: 100 knees
- 100 push ups
- 100 crunches
- run
- 800 jumps

that was pretty much it, I'm not very sour yet, but it's coming ;)
