A replay of this past weekend's "DREAM: Japan GP Final" event will air on HDNet, after all.
Officials today announced that the July 16 event will debut on HDNet on Aug. 5 at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT).
The event, which didn't air live on North America, took place at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo and featured two title fights, as well as the conclusion of the DREAM Japan bantamweight grand prix.
DREAM hasn't aired a live show on HDNet since its "Dynamite!! 2010" event in December. The struggling Japanese-based promotion, though, has put together two solid cards in 2011, and at least two more are planned for the second half of this year.
The "DREAM: Japan GP Final" event concluded with the finale of the eight-man bantamweight tournament. Hideo Tokoro and Masakazu Imanari fought in the finals, and Kenji Osawa and Keisuke Fujiwar fought in a third-place fight. The top three finishers are expected to compete in a world grand prix that kicks off in September.
Additionally, featherweight champ Hiroyuki Takaya took on Kazuyuki Miyata in a featherweight title fight, and light-heavyweight titleholder Gegard Mousasi put his belt on the line against Hiroshi Izumi.
