LAS VEGAS – The 16 fighters competing in tonight's first-ever Superior Cage Combat event successfully made weight for the show.

Friday's weigh-ins featured lightweight headliners and UFC vets Steve Lopez and Justin Buchholz, who both weighed 155 pounds.

They lead tonight's card at Bally's Events Center inside Bally's Las Vegas. BMX rider/MTV host T.J. Lavin and MMAjunkie.com's John Morgan call the action. (Future broadcast plans for the taped show will be announced shortly.)

Ryan Langmaid, an Iowa-based promoter (and fighter) who launched Superior Cage Combat), filled the card with some notable names, including WEC vets Dave Terrel and Chuck Grigsby, as well as former UFC heavyweight Chase Gormley.

Lopez (12-4), who's based out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, opened his career with a 12-1 mark and eight stoppage victories. But with a short UFC stint and losses to Jim Miller and Waylon Lowe, he now looks to snap out of a three-fight losing skid again Buchholz (10-6), a five-time UFC fighter who looks to build off a recent submission victory over 40-fight veteran Steve Sharp.

The full weigh-in results included:
Steve Lopez (155) vs. Justin Buchholz (155)
Lance Wipf (155) vs. Eric Wisely (156)
Dave Terrel (171) vs. Phil Dace (170)
Bristol Marunde (190) vs. Chuck Grigsby (190)
Maurice Jackson (264) vs. Chase Gormley (265)
Kui Gonsalves (145) vs. Tyrelle Olding (141)
