“Sin City” will be on fire this December with the Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate Bantamweight title fight featured on the annual Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) year-end pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza.
It's certainly one way to close out 2013 with a bang.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has booked the long-awaited rematch between current women's Bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, against her 135-pound arch enemy, Miesha Tate, at UFC 168 on Dec., 28, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The two feisty females are currently serving as coaches for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18, which includes -- for the first time ever -- men and women living under the same roof while competing for their chance to earn a "six-figure" contract with the world's leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.
"Cupcake" replaced Cat Zingano in the title fight and on TUF after "Alpha" suffered an unfortunate knee injury that will keep her on the shelf until next year. Zingano defeated Tate at TUF 17 Finale in "Sin City" this past April, earning her the 135-pound title fight against "Rowdy" that never came to fruition.
Rousey and Tate originally duked it out in March 2012 in a fight that saw former dethrone the latter as the Strikeforce champ via first round armbar. The former Judoka went on to defend her title two more times before making history as the first women to ever sign a contract to compete inside the Ocatgon.
Before they attempt to settle their differences one more time inside the cage, the dynamic duo must first fulfill their coaching duties on TUF 18, a season that promises plenty of action-packed fights, as well as drama-filled moments between the two coaches, according to company president Dana White.
No word yet if the Rousey vs. Tate title fight will headline the year-end pay-per-view (PPV) event.
