While browsing the rules and regulations of ADCC I noticed they have a 60 kg men's division. 132.3 lbs. http://www.adcombat.com/adcc-rules-and-regulations Is this new? Because I have never seen video of weight classes lighter than 65 kg or 143.3 lbs. |

As far as I see the OFFICIAL WEIGHT CLASSES FOR THE ADCC TOURNAMENTS has only female 60 kg class but not male, while WEIGHT CLASSES FOR NATIONAL, OPEN AND ALL OTHER ADCC CHAMPIONSHIPS does have a 60 kg male class. |

I noticed there was a difference between the bracket titles. But I still am not sure the exact difference. As far as when they have 60 kg men's brackets and when they do not. The reason I was browsing was that I had the question "Why doesn't ADCC have lighter weight classes?" Many MMA organizations have 135 lb divisions. The UFC notably has the 125 division also. And it is rumored they are looking to add straw-weights, 115 lbs. MMA aside. Pan Ams has a 126.6 lb division with notable competitors such as: Bruno Malfacine and Caio Terra at these weight classes. I'm surprised ADCC hasn't opened up more divisions. |

I saw here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADCC_Submi ... ampionship that there where no champions in any men's weightclass under 66 kg. And I have no idea why there are no lighter classes really but I suppose 66 kg is low enough for most people to be able to make it unless you are bigger of course. |
