Post subject:  Ramon Dekkers passed away
One of the greatest (Dutch) Muay Thai fighters just passed away today, he was one of the first non-Thai to succecfully compete in Thailand and has won 8 world championships.
He was also a striking coach for Marloes Coenen and Alistair Overeem.

Reports are coming out of his home town of Breda today that Dekkers was riding his bike when he collapsed in a tunnel after feeling light-headed. A few bystanders attempted to assist him before emergency services arrived and attempted to revive him to no avail.

Dekkers is a former 8-time world champion and one of the first Dutch Kickboxers to really make an impact in Thailand. He was instrumental in helping the sport of Kickboxing to evolve to what it is today and will always be remembered for his accomplishments in and out of the ring.

i remember watching him in youtube long time ago, i didn't know his name lol. well, he was destroying people i mean it!! :shock: he was one the MOST dangerous kickboxer i've ever seen! he's too agressive always looking for finish. he's like Wanderlei Silva in his prime or even better!!he's a legend!! i think , thanks to him that Holland is well known for having the greatest kickboxers in the world!

You can't help thinking that to die at such a young age due to heart failure and being so fit...

...that there was an influence of something in the years of training.


Great shame, he was a great person.
