What is wrong with MMA officiating became clear last saturday night, as Diaz was not given a fair chance. Condit played it smart, perhaps GSP esque and would not stand toe to toe with Diaz to prove who was tougher. I still believe Diaz is the better fighter, and should be wearing the belt as he would give GSP more of a fight than Condit would. |

How come Diaz was denied a fair chance? They stood in the octagon for 25minutes, with 4 breaks and Diaz was not able to adapt his game. Condit had a game plan which was working, as he was hitting Diaz more often and harder, so he deserved the win. It doesn't matter matter if Diaz walked straight to Condit the whole fight and taunted him a lot, he was getting hit. And octagon control should also be award to Carlos, as Nick spent the whole fight trying to close the distance and trap him against the cage fruitlessly. The better fighter won. |

in my book, NOT playing to someone's strenght is SMART..... tbh what you say is exactly the same as strikers claiming grapplers don't want to fight "because they don't keep it on their feet"...last time I checked it's mma...not boxing If you got the win for "walking down" an opponent while getting punched it the face, you would have a point... chasing someone does NOT equal octagon control (catching him does), being outstruck also does not give you a win on "aggression" and "damage"..... I'm not saying the fight wasn't fairly close, but the claims of diaz being "robbed" are extremely ignorant Fyi I scored rd1 an 2 for nick 3-5 for condit, but wouldn't have been surprised if they had given rd5 to diaz for the takedown (as takedowns tend to count for WAY to much usually) |

Actually all fights that doesnt end in a finish should be counted as no contests or a loss for both fighters and no judges whould be needed for points at all. Who cares what three blind (obviously) judges thinks?, we all know there was no clear winner in the diaz vs condit fight so why should one be crowned the winner? Time to move away even more from boxing and remove the judges! |
