Deathclutch...Brocks book.

Right i wasnt gonna buy this book i downloaded a sample to the i pad 2 and before i knew it i had bought the rest of the book and finished it, its a good read Brock comes across well although one thing that sticks out is he is all about money, that and he hates frank muuuur. The book is well worth a read i love fighters books and its up there, i read chucks, ric flairs, forrest griffins, michael watsons and nigel benns books to name a few and can i just say absolutely as good as anyones book. Some good stuff about the wwe and the UFC and from it although he is all about money he really does love UFC and the octagon.
Check it out interesting to even Brock haters in my humble opinio
n :ymapplause:

oooooooooooh! Look at you and your newfangled gadget! :p

I have to agree that most books are normally a pretty good read - there is no doubt that there will be a bit of ghostwriting involved I'm sure...

If you want another good read I highly recommend this:

Thanks for the tip about Brocks book :)

Maybe a good idea to start a topic/continue this topic with some tips about fighters books?
I've read a few of them,
-Iceman - My Fighting Life(Chuck)
-Becoming the Natural - My life in and out of the Cage(Randy)
-Why I fight - The belt is just an accessory(BJ)
-Made in America: The Most Dominant Champion in UFC History(Matt Hughes)
-Little Evil: One Ultimate Fighter's Rise to the top(Jens)
-This Is Gonna Hurt: The Life of a Mixed Martial Arts Champion(Tito)

I might have missed one or two, just ordered Deathclutch waiting for it to arrive ;)

Best book so far, Little Evil, small but really impressive book!
if anybody has any digital copies it might be interesting to post 'm as well? I haven't been able to find any yet.

Wicked, i read the griffin books and the Chuck book. I found the chuck book very good indeed was real eye opener tbh he went through it big time. I want to read the Randy book, also read a few boxers books they were good to Michael watson and nigel benns very good.
All fight fans this is a must book... by lenny R I P is world famous bare knuckle boxer was a monster in a fight but this is more than a tough guy book real story with some real lump in throat moments about his poor upbringing

Deathclutch - Highly recommended.

I've got Brock's book. Thought it was really good, if a little preachy about how amazing he is at times. It's really good about discussing the background and facts behind his career, gives you a great insight into WWE and UFC as well as his motivations and stuff. He's honest and frank throughout, so it's really enjoyable from start to finish.

It's been a while since I've gone through DeathClutch, I thought it was a really enjoyable book. It says a lot, if no all about Brock, he's been through his rought times, but in the end he's all about his family, money and fighting. Nothing wrong with that. It was nice to read about his time in the WWE and how he got screwed over multiple times, but in the end left with ...
Spoiler:
...a lot of cash that he had to use buying himself out of his WWE contract and non competition clause
This is definitely a book to pick up and read!
Any other good fighter books coming up that you guys know of?

OK I am a Brock hater (anyone who can't take strikes to the face in the heavyweight division aint gonna hang) but it DOES sound like an interesting read. I have a few suggestions/reviews of my own.

1. Title Shot: Into the Shark Tank of Mixed Martial Arts - Kelly Crigger
An interesting look at an ex marine who throws himself into the crazy life of an MMA fighter. Just a plain good read.
http://www.amazon.com/Title-Shot-Shark- ... 098150440X

2. A Fighter's Heart: One Man's Journey Through the World of Fighting - Sam Sheridan
A very interesting look into the worldwide travels of a journalist turned fighter who really explores exotic locales and connects with the true practitioners of the arts he finds. A REAL page turner. Highly recommended.

3. The Fighter's Mind: Inside the Mental Game - Sam Sheridan
By the same author as A Fighters Heart. Another great book by Sam Sheridan. In his acclaimed national best seller, A Fighter’s Heart, Sam Sheridan took readers with him as he stepped through the ropes into the dangerous world of professional fighting. From a Muay Thai bout in Bangkok to Rio, where he trained with Jiu-Jitsu royalty, to Iowa, where he matched up against the toughest in MMA, Sheridan threw himself into a quest to understand how and why we fight. In The Fighter’s Mind, Sheridan does for the brain what his first book did for the body. To uncover the secrets of mental strength and success, Sheridan interviewed dozens of the world’s most fascinating and dangerous men, including celebrated trainers Freddie Roach and Greg Jackson; champion fighters Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, and Marcelo Garcia; Ultrarunner David Horton; legendary wrestler Dan Gable, and many more. What are their secrets? How do they stay committed through years of training, craft a game plan, and adjust to the realities of the ring? How do they project strength when weak, and remain mentally tough despite incredible physical pain? A fascinating book, bursting at the seams with incredible stories and insight, The Fighter’s Mind answers these questions and many more. One word!! Awesome!! Highly recommended.

4. Why I Fight: The Belt Is Just an Accessory - Jay Dee "b.j." Penn - Another great title. A real page turner and a great look into the mind and life of Baby J!!
http://www.amazon.com/Why-Fight-Belt-Ju ... pd_sim_b_4

I included the Amazon! links because a bunch of these (even hardcover) are on super sale!

So that's my round up. I loved them all. I think a forum JUST based on books (if it doesn't already exist) would be great!!

BTW.. Think it's cool to include books on training etc. or should that be another forum topic?
