Post subject:  UFC 112 What happened to Vitor Belfort?
I was just wondering if anybody new whether he got injured training or just backed out of the fight due to illness. I just heard that silva was now fighting damien mia and was very dissappointed that will be an easy fight for silva.

It was announced early february that vitor injured his shoulder during training and that he would not be able to face silva at 112

A good question is what happens when he comes back. Will he face the winner of Silva vs Maia?

I believe this was also a topic at the Sirius XM Fight club. The problem was that Sonnen was also promised a title shot so what they came up with was that the best solution would be that Belfort would fight Sonnen after Vitor comes back from his shoulder operation and then the winner of that fight will get a title shot against the winner of Silva vs Maia.

Allright! I must have missed that Sirius ep, but yeah that sounds reasonable. So with other words, the top guys in that division right now are defenitely Silva and Sonnen. Belfort better make a good first fight when hes back because it looks like there might be some competition for the belt finally! With Sonnen coming strong suddenly Belfort doesnt seem the natural opponent anymore for a title fight. He should at least defeat Sonnen and Maia first imo.
