This was a pretty disappointing card for me. Minowaman who I always root for looked terrible in his fight Katsunori Kikuno's liverkick right straight was a sick combination. <-- Watch this fight Cole Escovedo's head kick was alright, but I was depressed how low Maeda kept his hands the whole fight Ryo Chonan is too much of a gimmick now, still solid / boring fight for me The KJ noons fight was terrible imo. He sat there and boxed for 2 rounds and won because he had better conditioning. If the guy he was fighting did any research and had any wrestling skills I would have liked to see that fight. Too bad. ( I don't like KJ if you can't tell) Josh Barnett fight was as could be expected. He was fighting a can to get him back into winning ways. WAR JOSH! but bad fight. Bibiano Fernandes vs Joachim Hansen <- WORTH SITTING THROUGH THE REST OF THE CRAPPY FIGHTS. I like both these guys a lot. Sick fight. Lots of good kickboxing, and I really like how they both handled the clinch. |

Yeah, shame it wasn't better overall, but there was a couple of brutal knockouts that made the event worth while IMO, which you already mentioned. |

And I am pleased to say that I thought DREAM 13 was really great! There is something about the DREAM events that make me both nostalgic and happy. Japanese/Pride style event. Very nice feeling in the air. One of my favorites are the Minowaman,glad to see him finish with a cool submission. Off course I know his matchups are always tending to be freakshowish but I still love his style. Amazing jaw breaking kick from Cole Escovedo. I thought the main event was good. Would have been better with a KO or submission ending but I was watching the whole fight with big interest. It was very close. I hope for a rematch in the future. Overall I enjoyed it a lot. |

I personally thought K J looked really good, loved his body shots, the only reason the fight went like it did was cuz Dida was pretty much running, Dida who also is a stand up fighter couldnt have taken him down if he wanted, Noons has pretty good take down defense, more then good enough to keep Dida on his feet. I thought Barnett looked horrible got dropped and was hoping he was gonna get knocked out, dont see how he was ever ranked #2 HW Was all and all a good event for me but hey im from ontario and ill drive 2 hours to a local reserve and watch some amateurs bang it out(have no ground tho only stand up at the reserve). Main event was good although dissapointing. Also was it just me or did Hansons legs look like toothpicks at 135, i mean my upperbody isnt as big as his but my legs make his look like really skinny and i only weigh 140 |
