Yup, n00b here and all. I used to write about college football for a living, but after changing careers, I don't get the chance to write as much as I'd like to, so I'll just be providing some MMA fodder each week. Love it, hate it, as long as you read it, it's all cream cheese. Respond if you want to. Love/hate/whatever. I like this site and wanna get the ball rolling on some interesting discussions. BTW, I get my rankings from FightMatrix, they're the deepest service I've found and are very up-to-date. THE WEEK THAT WAS Fighters of the Week: 1. Sarah Kaufman: Defeated Takayo Hashi in a dominant decision to win the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship. 2. Thales Leites: The former UFC #1 Middleweigtht contender made quick work of Rico Washington in the main event of Bitetti Combat 6 with a first-round submission. 3. Luke Rockhold: The fast-rising MW prospect TKO'd Paul Bradley in the first-round with a body-knee at Strikeforce Challengers and looked very impressive. 4. Glover Texeira - Underrated LHW defeated solid Joaquim Ferreira and made his corner throw in the towel at Bitetti Combat 6 5. Yves Edwards - TKO'd Derrick Noble in the second round in the main event of MFC 24 to possibly earn a shot at Antonio McKee and the MFC Lightweight Championship or a crack at the big leagues again. 6. Bobby Green - Won the KOTC Jr. Bantamweight Title with a first-round TKO of Ricky Legere Jr. 7. Tom Watson - Upset Pride/KOTC/EliteXC veteran Travis Gailbrath with a huge knockout at MFC 24. 8. David Loiseau - Former UFC #1 contender scores a first-round TKO win in the main event of MFL 2: Battleground 9. Danillo Villefort - It only took 56 seconds for the UFC and WEC vet to knock out Cassiano Tytschyo at Bitetti Combat 6. 10. Steve Bosse - Former hockey goon gets another quality win as he defeated veteran Marvin Eastman via unanimous decision. Quote of the Week: "Yup, you can see his whole mixed martial ass right there." - Jimmy Kimmel showing the Chuck Liddell naked Reebok ad. Upset of the Week: Tom Watson def.
