British wild card James Ward upsets defending champion Sam Querrey, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 and then beats Adrian Mannarino, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4 to reach the semifinals of Queen's Club. With fellow Briton Andy Murray also advancing to the semis, it’s the first time that two British men have reached the final four of the same tournament since Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski did it at Rotterdam in 1999.
The 24-year-old Ward came into the event ranked No. 216, and partially credits his improved play to working with mixed martial arts cage fighter Diego Visotzky. "Sometimes I do make him wrestle, it’s part of the mental conditioning thing," Visotzky told Reuters. "It's conditioning, so I let him beat me sometimes. If I wanted to, maybe I could kill him!"
