i thought the same thing at first...
then i remembered that the tracker and forum have 2 separate msg systems...
so make sure you are checking your forum private messages rather than your tracker private messages...
did this solve the problem for you...? :-?

Remember to allow popups from mma-torrents in your browser as the forum shows a small popup window when a new pm is in your inbox ;)

Also do as Sym said and check the specific forum PM by looking at the forum menu just below the usual top menu. It should say something like "1 New messages"...
