AXS TV will have a new addition for its near-weekly Friday-night MMA programming, officials recently announced.
The East Coast-based CES MMA promotion has signed a multi-year broadcast deal with the TV channel. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
“We are excited to add an East Coast-based promotion to the AXS TV Fights family,” AXS TV Fights CEO Andrew Simon stated. “The new addition of CES MMA helps us continue to change the landscape of mixed martial arts and offer more live events from more promotions than any other U.S. television network.”
The first AXS TV event, CES MMA 27, airs Jan. 30, and Michael Schiavello and Pat Miletich call the action.
The promotion will then share Friday-night timeslots with other AXS TV promotions, including Legacy FC, RFA and MFC.
CES MMA (short for Classic Entertainment and Sports, which began as a boxing promotion) has produced many big-show vets, including John Howard, Rob Font and Brennan Ward. It launched in 2010 and has promoted 25 events to date, and a 26th is scheduled for Oct. 10. Most have taken place at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I.
