Another mixed martial arts company has entered the ring in the push for legalization in New York.
Ray Sefo, president of the fledgling World Series of Fighting, will be at the state Capitol Monday to lobby lawmakers.
If New York legalizes the sport it banned in 1997, Sefo said, he envisions at least two shows a year in the state, with one being at Madison Square Garden.
“We would love to be in New York and are sure that at some point it will pass,” Sefo said.
The Senate this year again passed a bill to legalize the controversial sport. And Gov. Cuomo has said he could support the measure if it brings in tourists and means the state will benefit economically.Source: MMAJunkie.com
