A heavyweight bout between Pat Barry (8-5 MMA, 5-5 UFC) and Shawn Jordan (14-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is the latest addition to the recently announced UFC 161 card.
Officials today announced the bout, confirming a report from winnipegfreepress.com. They also confirmed a bout MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported: welterweights Jake Shields (27-6-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) vs. Tyron Woodley (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
UFC 161 takes place June 15 at MPS Centre in Winnipeg and marks the UFC's debut in the Canadian city. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.
It's not clear where Barry vs. Jordan and Shields vs. Woodley will be placed on the lineup.
Barry recently avoided a fourth loss in five fights, as well as a potential UFC release, after scoring a "Knockout of the Night" bonus in a win over Shane Del Rosario. It accounted for the veteran kickboxer's seventh knockout in eight career wins, and it followed recent losses to Cheick Kongo, Stefan Struve and Lavar Johnson.
Jordan, meanwhile, recently scored a TKO win over Mike Russow to move to 3-1 over his past four fights. The former Strikeforce and Bellator fighter, who also won a national title with LSU's football team in 2007, scored Zuffa wins over Johnson (submission) and Oli Thompson (TKO) before the Russow victory.Source: MMAJunkie.com
