Renan Barao will be fighting for a title, but Ivan Menjivar (24-8 MMA, 3-1 UFC) isn't missing out on a big fight. UFC officials today announced that with Barao now fighting Urijah Faber at July's UFC 148 event, the Brazilian's original opponent, Ivan Menjivar, will now fight Mike Easton (12-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC). Headlined by a middleweight title fight between champ Anderson Silva and chalenger Chael Sonnen, UFC 148 takes place July 7 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It's curently unknown where the bouts will take place on the evening's lineup. Menjivar had been expected to face Barao at UFC 148 before the Brazilian was pulled from the bout to replace bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz in a bout against Faber. With the champ sidelined, UFC president Dana White announced that matchup is for an interim title. Menjivar, who boasts a three-fight win streak, now meets Easton. "The Hulk" currently boasts a seven-fight win streak that includes two octagon appearances.
