In September, Siyar Bahadurzada informed the world he was UFC bound.
Today, he released the details of his first fight.
"I'll be fighting Erick Silva at UFC 142!" Bahadurzada today stated on his official Twitter account. "Anxious to fight in Rio again!"
Bahadurzada most recently fought in Rio de Janeiro in August 2010, when he defeated Carlos Alexandre Pereira at a Shooto event.
UFC 142 takes place Jan. 14 at Rio de Janeiro's HSBC Arena. UFC executives have yet officially announce the Bahadurzada (20-4-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Silva (13-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) contest.
Bahadurzada's current six-fight win streak includes knockouts of notables John Alessio and Derrick Noble, among others. Most recently, he won Ultimate Glory's multi-event welterweight grand prix.
The Team Golden Glory fighter and Afghanistan native currently can be seen as one of Jason "Mayhem" Miller's assistant coaches on "The Ultimate Fighter 14." The confident fighter recently joined MMAjunkie.com Radio and made a bold prediction.
Meanwhile, Silva carries a nine-fight win streak. The Brazilian slugger made his octagon debut at UFC 134, which also took place in Rio de Janiero, where he scored a 40-second stoppage of Luis Ramos. Silva appeared to be in line for thew night's "Knockout of the Night" bonus before his teammate Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira stopped Brendan Schaub later that evening.
