Georges St. Pierre makes between $4 and $5 million per fight.
Those are the figures he gave to Agence France-Presse last week in a quick interview during his time in Las Vegas for the UFC 137 event.
St. Pierre was asked if he is the highest-paid fight in the world. He replied, “I do not know, but I learned that the UFC makes the most money on Pay Per View when I am fighting. That made me smile!
“For me, a fight is [worth] $4 to $5 million. And in the city where the UFC holds its events, they are economic benefits [to the city] of between $15 to $20 million. It's huge!”
St. Pierre was also asked if he still harbours any Olympic wrestling ambitions. Last year he was the subject of strong rumours that he was looking to earn a place in the Canadian wrestling team for the 2012 Olympics.
"I do not intend to participate in the 2012 Olympic Games. However, I do not close the door. I love Olympic wrestling, I've competed in Olympic wrestling and I train a lot with selected Olympic team members,” he said.
"My level is very good. I'm not saying I could go to the Olympics now, but after my retirement in mixed martial arts, if I want a new challenge, I do not say no. I'm 30. I must use my time now to make money. At 36 years if I want to change, then maybe [I try wrestling]."
