A featherweight bout between former title challenger Mark Hominick (20-9 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung (11-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is slated for UFC 140.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
UFC 140 takes place Dec. 10 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The night's main card airs live on pay-per-view, though it's not clear if Hominick vs. Jung will be part of the broadcast.
Hominick fights in his home country for a second straight time. Most recently, the Canadian suffered a unanimous-decision loss to UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 129. The April title fight, which co-headlined the UFC's first-ever stadium show, ended in a decision victory for Aldo via 48-45, 48-46 and 49-46 scores. Both competitors earned $129,000 "Fight of the Night" awards for the performance.
Hominick had earned his title shot with a five-fight win streak in the WEC and UFC.
The 29-year-old kickboxer, who's recently dealt with the death of his longtime trainer Shawn Tompkins, looks to get back in contention when he meets Jung, who recently rebounded from a 1-3 skid in World Victory Road and the WEC with a slick submission victory over Leonard Garcia at UFC Fight Night 24 earlier this year. The 24-year-old Jung scored a rare twister that earned the night's "Submission of the Night" award. Jung, who's also competed professional in kickboxing, now owns seven submission victories in 11 career wins.
