Background

On May 24, 2011, it was announced that Legacy Fighting Championships has come to agreement with HDNet to broadcast this event making this the first time a Legacy FC event will be broadcasted on national television.

Former power ranger, Jason David Frank was supposed to fight for the first time since winning in his MMA debut in August 2010 against Shawn Machado until he had to drop out due to injury.

Mike Bronzoulis was expected to fight on this card against UFC veteran Pete Spratt until he got signed by Strikeforce. Brian Melancon was set to replace Bronzoulis against Spratt. Shortly after taking the fight, Melancon was signed to a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and was replaced on the card by Antonio "King Kong" Flores.
