Sengoku, DEEP and Pancrase vet Chan Sung Jung (10-1) is likely heading to the WEC.

MMAjunkie.com has learned from sources close to the promotion that "The Korean Zombie" is currently in negotiations with the WEC and is expected to sign a deal shortly.

WEC officials declined to comment on the situation when contacted by MMAjunkie.com, and the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Jung, just 22 years old, made his MMA debut in 2007, and he opened his career with nine-straight win. Despite a successful track record in kickboxing, Jung has also trained in Hapkido and competed in Sambo tournaments.

Jung's lone career loss came in May 2009 via unanimous decision to a recently streaking Masanori Kanehara at "Sengoku Eighth Battle." Jung bounced back with a second-round submission win over Matt Jaggers in a featherweight grand prix reserve bout at "Sengoku Ninth Battle," though the Korean wasn't called on for additional duty that evening.

Jung recently made the rounds as an Internet sensation when his spinning backfist knockout of Thai boxer Pajonsuk under the "It's Showtime" banner was widely viewed on YouTube. Despite the spectacular finish, Jung was disqualified as the turning attack is not allowed in the "It's Showtime" promotion.

Jung's recent bouts in Japan were contested at 143 pounds, and he is expected to compete as a featherweight in the WEC. An exact date for his WEC debut has yet to be determined.
