UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on March 21, 2010 in Broomfield, Colorado at the Odeum Colorado. This event will be the UFC's debut on Versus. This will be the second time that the UFC has visited Broomfield, Colorado. UFC Fight Night 13 took place at the Odeum back in 2008.

Background

Brandon Vera was previously scheduled to fight Antônio Rogério Nogueira at UFC 109, but Nogueira was forced out of the bout with an ankle injury.

Junior dos Santos and Gabriel Gonzaga were originally set to fight at UFC 108, however Gonzaga suffered an injury that prevented him from competing.

A bout between Clay Guida and Sean Sherk was in the works but Sherk suffered an undisclosed injury and was forced to pull out. Shannon Gugerty will step in as the replacement against Guida.

Good fight card, really excited about Dos Santos and Gonzaga, not to forget the Vera, Jones matchup altho, for me, Vera has looked good recently, I wouldnt count him out of this fight by a long shot ;)

This is actually a pretty sweet card for a non PPV. Fortunately this one is going to air on free to air television OneHD in Australia, so take the day off work now guys ;)

Vera vs Jones and Gonzaga vs Dos Santos both have the potential to be amazing fights. Really looking forward to watching this event.

The Human Rights Council will be up in arms over dos Santos vs. Gonzaga. dos Santos is dangerous as it is, but Gonzaga has to be the most violent Heavyweight of the past 4 years. Gonzaga is a scary, hairy manbearpig.

I hope Jones owns Vera. This is the only Vera fight I have ever looked forward to.

I agree that this event has violence written all over it! Personally I am very exited about seeing Jon Jones again. I hope that kid goes really far, he is a wildbeast :)

I like the way the UFC have played this. It's the first UFC to air live on Versus I believe? So they put out a load of big punchers for all those tuning in for the first time.

Awesome card anyway, I'm pretty excited to say the least :D
