Background

On May 4, under the bright lights of the Tokyo Dome, Rizin returns with Otoko Matsuri, a night destined to leave a lasting imprint on Japanese combat sports. In the main event, two-time featherweight champion Kleber Koike Erbst puts his crown on the line against the rising force from Kyrgyzstan, Razhabali Shaydullaev. Erbst, known for his elite grappling and nearly two dozen submission victories, has long ruled the division with technical brilliance and cold-blooded composure. But across from him stands an unbeaten challenger who has ripped through regional scenes with power, pace, and an iron will. Shaydullaev’s moment has arrived, and he’s not coming to Tokyo to play defense.

The stakes don’t stop there. With the heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinals also underway, legends, prospects, and international contenders will throw down for a shot at immortality in one of Rizin’s most ambitious tournaments to date. But it's the main event that carries the weight of legacy. Erbst represents the established elite, a symbol of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu dominance in MMA. Shaydullaev brings a new threat, a different style, and the hunger of a man who sees the belt not as a dream, but a destiny.

Rizin Otoko Matsuri is more than just a stacked fight card, it’s a celebration of warriors, of history, and of the future. The Tokyo Dome is set for violence, and when that cage door shuts, only one man will leave with the featherweight crown.

A featherweight rematch between Mikuru Asakura and Ren Hiramoto was scheduled to headline the event. The pairing previously met at Super Rizin 3 in July 2024, which Hiramoto won by first-round knockout. However on March 3, the promotion officially announced that Hiramoto withdrew due to a shoulder injury and Asakura expected to still compete on the card. On March 7, the promotion announced that the event is changed to Rizin: Otoko Matsuri.

A Rizin Featherweight Championship bout between current two-time champion Kleber Koike Erbst and Razhabali Shaydullaev is scheduled to headline the event.

The quarterfinals of 2025 Rizin World Grand Prix heavyweight tournament is scheduled to take place at this event.
